Concert
Musics at the French court
This concert recreates the daily atmosphere of the pleasant and charming life at the court of the King of France during the 16th century.
Fond of celebrations, dancing, entertainments, Francis I was to patronise the finest singers and instrumentalists in France with the aim of making court life pleasant and refined, and also for reasons of political prestige. With this concert by Doulce Mémoire you will taste some of the splendour of the festivities that were held in the châteaux of the Loire, with the rare instruments of the King’s Chamber (those used for indoor performance in the king’s rooms) and Écurie (those intended for military and outdoor pageantry).
