A tribute to this great poet who judged the music indispensable to the transmission of the poetic text, and declared himself the first French lyric poet.

Since his entry into the literary world in 1550 with his collection of odes, Pierre de Ronsard displays his taste for the ancient models but also for singing, accompanied by instruments, as practiced by the Greek aed, singer poet and model to follow for this new generation of poets gathered in the Pleiades.
In the preface to the Odes, Ronsard declares: “Only the lyre must and can animate the verses”, and later, in the abridgment of the French poetic art of 1565: “poetry without the instruments and without the grace of one or more voices is not pleasant. ”
This constant call by Ronsard to musicians is so widely heard that he will become the favorite poet of contemporary composers. More than 350 pieces will be set to music.
