Concert

At the Carnival of Florence with Leonard

Vinci is often considered from the angle of the noble old man who arrived at the court of Francis I or the talented engineer and painter employed in Milan in the service of the Sforzas; the project of this concert consists in focusing on the young years of Leonardo and in particular on this singular moment of the carnival celebrations of Florence.

We will revive the carnival festivities of the youth of Leonardo who is passionate for the contrast between a perfect form of absolute beauty and the infinitely ugly or the monstrous. We know his taste for the ridiculous figures that we can find in his notebooks, figures that he could see during these carnival celebrations in which the whole city paraded travesty, on floats, playing and singing the carnival songs and the most sublime poetry of the Magnificent and Poliziano rubs with extremely leisurely and obscene texts.
